A Vibrant And Colourful Image
Since I make thumbnails for my YouTube videos, I knew I can use the same effects as I do whilst making my YouTube thumbnails to get the result that I want which was a nice and colourful image. Firstly, I decided that I would increase the overall saturation of the image to +50 since I knew this would allow the already colourful umbrellas to stand out even more and therefore give this picture more life. What I also did to make this picture more appealing is that I increased the overall saturation of the image by just 25+. Usually, I would have finished editing the image right then and there (as that’s what I do for my YouTube thumbnails) however the day of editing this image I learned about the vibrance effect that can be found within Photoshop and after learning of this effect I knew I had to use to effect within this piece of work since it would make the picture look even better than I thought was possible. When I added the vibrance effect I made sure to put it all the way up which was 100+ to make this effect and the other effects more effective at proving me a colour and vibrant image.
An Old View
When I finished making the last edited image, I was quite confused on what I could do that’s unique from the previous pieces of work that I have completed which includes the last image and my YouTube thumbnails. This led me to trying out new effects within Photoshop which included levels, curves and exposure however this didn’t give me the result that I was looking for. I eventually stumbled across the effect which is the Gradient Map effect. This Gradient Map effect allows for some unique designs with photoshop, and I knew that after an explanation from a tutor to gain a full understanding of this effect that I could make something quite appealing. I decided to use an orange/yellow effect on this image to just see how different gradients work on the image. I did not test any other gradients however since this gradient I just used looked better that expected but it still needed some editing to reach its full potential. Therefore, I eventually decided to decrease the overall opacity of the effect to just 50%. This allowed for the original image to still be clearly seen. I also decided to use the 3rd grass texture to make this image more authentic for the theme of the image which is and older generation theme.

Pure Black And White
After making an image that was made to be bright and colourful and then an image that was meant to be an old theme I knew that for the next edited image that I was going to make that I was going to use an effect I had barely ever used before (if I ever used it at all) to make a piece of work that would truly stand out from the rest of the pieces of work I have made in the past. At the time of starting to edit this image I was stumbled on what theme I was going for so I decided that I would once again look through the multiple different types of effects that are within Photoshop to see what ideas I can come up with. I eventually came across the threshold effect and after testing out this effect on this image I knew I had to use it within this piece of work due it drastically changing the way of the image looked. The Threshold effect made the whole image black and white and after some tweaking to make the image look more appealing, I decided that not much else needed to be done. I also like this image since it shows the opposite of my first edited version of this image which is a colourful version of the image.
