I decided to start my Greta Thunberg speech project with what I believe to be the most impactful sentence from Greta Thunberg’s speech to let everyone know the true meaning of the project and Greta Thunberg’s speech. Since this speech is based on the climate, the part of Greta Thunberg’s speech I have chosen to start my project off with obviously indicates that everyone is finally starting to change for the better. To help re-enforce this, I decided to show people protesting during the title sequence about the climate to show that people really do care and I also showed fast traffic to help display the fact that world is changing quite fast, where we like it or not. During the “You all come to us young people for hope” section of Greta’s speech, I decided that I would have the shot black and white until Greta saids the word “hope”, then I changed the saturation back to normal to increase the impact and to help signify hope. When Greta Thunberg mentions that people are ‘suffering’ and ‘dying’ I thought it was best to include some motion graphics of fire right in front if the moving earth to help represent that dangerous things are happening on all of earth. Finally, to represent the anger that Greta Thunberg is clearly feeling, I felt that it was appropriate to use the ‘wiggle’ command and I added a shape layer which was red and had 50% opacity, so Greta could clearly be seen.
